5 Golden Games
Are you looking for some family friendly board games to play over the festive period? Then look no further than your local vintage and retro emporium! Hobo's has a wide range of classic pastimes, as well as some lesser seen beauties. Take a look at our five golden games below...
1. Ludo
Derived from the Indian game Pachisi and simplified somewhat for our ease, Ludo remains a firm favourite with most! It's easy to learn, easy to play and rarely leads to the seasonal family feuds that can be caused by a lot of board games... they're further down this post.
2. The Sweeney
Who remembers "The Sweeney" - tough talking and action packed crime drama from the 1970's with Dennis Waterman and John Thaw? Me neither. Anyways, this game is based on that series! A continual battle between The Sweeney and the Villains - plan your raids and capture your target!
3. Dino Volcano
Outrun the hot lava and escape extinction with this petrifying prehistoric race game! With up to 6 people that can play at once, this is one for people of all ages and is sure to get competitive. You may have never heard of this game before, but believe us when we say that it is quality!
4. Battleship
Since 1967, the Battleship game has been thrilling would-be naval commanders! Assemble your fleet, call your shots and sink their ships. The Battleship game is always a hit, even when you miss.
5. Jurassic Park Monopoly
This classic board game just got reimagined with Steven Spielberg's 1993 blockbuster! Moving around the board to secure dinosaur paddocks and other areas whilst watching out for a pesky T-Rex that doesn’t follow the rules... how good does that sound, right. It may even be better than the original!
There are many more games on offer in store besides the above, and much more than just games too! Pop in store to see our vintage and retro range, American sportswear, football tops, jeans, bands and artist merchandise, mod and skinhead apparel and so, so much more! Open Monday to Saturday, 10:30 until 18:00 and Sunday from 12:00 until 16:00.
